From a very young age my creativity bubbled to the surface as I was the “go to” for cutting all my friends hair at school. This is where I discovered my passion for a creative career in hairdressing.

I started out in a small country town, winning apprentice of the year awards and getting involved in local theatre productions, performing, as well as stying hair and doing make-up. I moved to Brisbane after completing my apprenticeship where I worked in a number of busy and high profile CBD salons and it was during this time that I became heavily involved in hair shows and professional hair and beauty creative photo shoots.

I moved to the Sunshine Coast for 3 years where Simon and I focussed on raising our 3 young kids before Sydney beckoned. We had 4 great years there and this is where I reconnected with my profession in a quaint and arty north shore salon.

In 2005 we moved back north to Brisbane where I found my “natural habitat” in a busy, high end, salon in the inner city suburb of Paddington. We achieved many successes in industry competitions across the 15 years I was there. I thoroughly enjoyed my Creative Director role and the responsibility for developing the junior and senior teams as an Educator.

I’ve held styling ambassador roles with L’Oreal, Aveda, Kevin Murphy, Goldwell and KMS at fashion week events in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne. I’m in the process of completing the Wella Master Colour Expert qualification in Sydney so that my clients can achieve the colour they want whilst maintaining healthy hair.

I am now embarking on my very own creative venture with the birth of Ember Hair. The dawning of a whole new chapter reflecting me, my experience, my style, my vision to create beautiful hair to positively influence all those who come in contact with me and my brand.

I love client contact and take a genuine interest in who they are and their “why” so that I can help bring out their best. I listen, empathise and create to deliver a great and enjoyable customer experience with an image that suits my clients individuality and lifestyle. My specialty is creating texture and movement in hair with an eye for detail to deliver clients with an image of themselves that they fall in love with.
